Open database
An open relational database is a
powerful tool. It provides the ability to turn the
data captured within the Troika system into valuable
information via links to other reporting tools and
systems. Troika can either import or export information
automatically minimising the time consuming process
of re-keying information.
Data Feed Processing
Troika is designed with a generic
import routine that can be tailored to the data feed
of choice. These include security pricing, dividend
information and capital actions. The Finapps organisation,
as a matter of policy does not have any direct business
relationships with data providers. This is to protect
our independence and we are therefore able to provide
our clients with their own choice of data provider.
All new clients have the option
to link with any provider of their choice. We currently
link with a number of providers, but if you wish to
use a different provider just let us know. We make
no charge for any changes that we make to our import
facility and this enables our clients to have a direct
agreement with the service provider of their choice.

Data Conversion, Migration and
Data Transfer
The majority of our potential clients
are now with second, or in some cases third generation
computer systems. We therefore have considerable experience
in converting data from a variety of systems and handle
each conversion as a separate project within the installation
process. Data can also be transferred from other applications
such as Microsoft Access © and Microsoft Excel
©.
FinApps have a dedicated conversion
expert, who evaluates clients' data to establish issues
that may impact on the conversion. We operate a unique
open data base policy. All data conversions depend
to some extent on the access that is available to
the legacy system.
These factors are discussed with
potential clients to assess the possibilities, produce
reports with realistic costs and include standard
benchmarks for evaluating the quality of the converted
data.
